What is the difference between B&H Photo Video USA and B&H Photo Video India?

B&H Photo Video India is a Liaison Office of B&H Photo Video USA.

Being a liaison office our activities are limited to providing information about the parent company and help our customers in India with purchasing the products from our web site. We also provide information regarding the landed costs of products, approximate customs duties and Octroi applicable, after sales support, track shipments Etc.

Can I see the products I wish to buy?

All our goods are stocked in New York and shipped from our super store directly to your address in India, hence we are unable to offer you a display of goods. However our website has detailed description and pictures of all the products you may want to know about.

What is the rate of Customs Duty applicable on products bought from B&H Photo Video USA?

Customs Duty varies from product to product and from time to time, most products such as cameras, microphones, lights Etc. attract a total duty of approximately 36% ON CIF VALUE, some products such as computer peripherals attract a duty of about 21%.. few products are exempted from duty, we suggest you call us on 1-800-22-8008 or 020 30521900 or email us at info@bhindia.com for our estimate of landed cost.

What is CIF Value?

CIF means CUSTOMS, INSURANCE AND FREIGHT- In this case it means Customs duty is applicable on the total invoice including value of goods + shipping.

If we are eligible for Customs Duty exemption then would that be applicable for purchases made from B&H Photo Video?

Yes, those enjoying Duty exemption can avail of the same on purchases made from us.

How do we pay for our purchases?

There are several options of payment including Credit Card, Bank Wire Transfer, Letter of Credit Etc. Please call our office on
1-800-22-8008 or on 020 30521900 for more details.All payments must be done in US $ directly to B&H Photo Video USA. The office in India will assist you with information in doing so if need be.

My credit card has a limit lesser that cost of the product, what do I do?

You can either choose to split the payment over a few days or use more than one card. You could also use another persons card with proper authorisation.

What is the time taken for delivery of goods?

If goods are in stock then you are likely to receive them between five to seven working days. Special Order goods are subject to conditions, an approximate delivery time will be committed to you before purchase.

What about warranty of goods purchased from B&H Photo Video USA?

If goods are covered under global warranty then we will help you find the nearest service center in India if available. If service of the product is not available in India then the customer has to ship the goods to either the nearest applicable service center or to B&H photo video USA as the case might be. B&H Photo Video, under most circumstances offers return shipping if the goods are under warranty.

Charges, taxes Etc. applied outside the scope of the warranty will have to be borne by the customer. If warranty is not applicable due to abuse or improper use of equipment then B&H Photo Video will not bear any expenses towards the shipping or repair of such goods.

Is it safe to buy Film & Photographic paper via your website, would it get X-rayed during shipping?

Our liaison office will try it's best to prevent that from happening but we do not guarantee the same as it is at the sole discretion of the authorities concerned at various levels both in India and internationally. We do have a good number of clients who regularly buy photographic paper from us.

The technical description of the product I wish to buy indicates that the product would work on 110V only, will this work in India or would you automatically change it to a 220V version when I order from India?

We suggest you call us before ordering so we could clarify the same. Some products will work with proper adaptors, we are likely to have a 220V version of the product you wish to buy and we would be glad to find that out for you. We do not change orders on our own without informing you and we suggest you cross check before ordering.

Will you automatically send me PAL version of the equipment if the equipment I order is NTSC only?

NO, we will ship exactly what you order, if you have difficulty finding the PAL version of the product you wish to buy then please contact us.

I have my own shipper, will B&H hand over goods to a shipper of my choice?

Yes, upon proper authorisation B&H will hand over goods to the shipper of your choice provided they collect the goods from our shipping center in New York.
